Hi there, I managed to fry a wire in the dash. Lights still work but the bus wont start. The key is stuck n the but wont turn. I have bought a new ignition barrel with key and I want to change it over. However, I cannot get the plastic cover off the ignition barrrel. I have spent 4 weeks trying to fix this and am about to explode. How do I change the ignition barrel and the starter switch on a 76 VW T2 bus? Thanks Gerald
If it's the later type, you can't remove the black plastic trim without (effectively) removing the steering column - fairly easy to do. The trim is attached from underneath.
