A DS really isn't that hard to keep running. The hydraulics are pretty bullet proof. The semi-auto hydraulic was only difficult to set up because it was so sensitive to idle speed. More so than a conventional automatic. The best DS is a DSuper 5. No frills or pointless luxury unlike in the Pallas but just magical.

As for the H van, they are slow. Made even slower when they fitted a diesel in it!! But they have a charm that the little VW doesn't have.

Dont mind slow , fun and funky styling makes up for a lot.

  4. Are you lot serious? its a monstrosity of a vehicle absolute crap, ugly , no lines looks like a mobile jail house out of terminator.....what would you put in it a toilet
it looks like a portacabin gone wrong. I am going mad..........looking at it.......ahhh there is no sanity.

As we drove out of Avoriaz & Morzine this morning I spotted two of these laid up in a farm before I closed my eyes on the bus! reckon there could be some happy hunting over the channel if someone was interested!

  8. The ambulance versions had hydraulic suspension from the DS :)

They are charming vehicles, but as with all Citroens, they are best enjoyed when owned and maintained by someone else.
Especially if you are used to German engineering, the French mechanics of the time are likely to be very disappointing or at least confusing.
