I want to remove the blanking plate from the third dial

  1. and install my newly purchased battery powered clock.

    So, I remove the 4 screws retaining the dashpod........

    Do I have to disconnect speedo and fuel guage as well or just flip the whole lot over and remove the blanking plate.

    I dont want to wreck the whole thing for the sake of a clock

  3. All you need is to undo the cluster screws as you mention - then stick your arm underneath the dash and unscrew the speedo cable - then you can flip it forward to unscrew the blanking plate. Move it slowly incase you pull any wires off accidentally.

    Dont lose the spring clips on the back of the pod retaining screws..........

  8. Did it without removing dash. Worked from underneath with a socket set.

    Clock is installed. Not exactly difficult.
