  1. Am currently trying to get to sleep in the camper. I sleep with my head near to rest hatch and can smell fuel to theright of me!!!! I filled up yesterday. Does this mean that I have a porous filler hose or worse???
Is it an engine out job?
Anything i can do now or tomorrow?will be transporting family and nephew around tomorrow and having made sure that everything was safe for this trip am now worried.

it does all point to porus breathers or tank filler. depends how small your hands are and what engine you have to how much you can do with it in situ.... there are plenty of threads explaining, i can't be more specific as i'm on phone and can't find links. as for is it safe..... that's your call, i guess because it's cool at the moment the fuel won't expand and leak like it does in the sun..... but you best be sure it isn't a fuel leak and that's the smell.... if you risk using it i would recommend only half filling until you sort it, usual disclaimers apply.

  4. Thanks folks. Not much I can do ATM on the campsite but JUST WANTED TO CHECK THAT that's where he filler hose is and that it's safe to drive. The bug has had the same problem for over a year (unable to buy the correct hose) but at least the tank and engine are different ends. Will take to mechanic to sort next week. I just won't fill up like I do in the bug
Sorry for erratic typing on. An iPad thingy...... Never had the smell before but not slept in it for a year and rarely fill up. As I'm always driving I guess I wouldn't. Mechanic cut. Hole in floor at back to put fuel sender in so will check link to see if I can get in that way.
Just want to be safe with little in the bus, only me sleeping in it but all in when driving.

  5. Filler hose is on the right. Breather joints in several places. Many, many threads on here.

If all's in good nick, there shouldn't be the faintest whiff of petrol from the rear.
