Hey everyone, This is my 6th VW camper, and definitely the best. It's a 1977 US T2b Westfalia Berlin. Now we have 2 little kids, so a 4 sleeper was high on the list. I also wanted a 2L, long ratio gearbox and the servo brakes. This one has it all, and also the low Red9 EZ rider kit, red Konis in the back, drives like a dream. The body is hard, no bondo, some scratches and dents, she 's not perfect. But the interior is very nice. Some pics when I bought her (with the Empi wheels) Aircooled greetz, Humby
In a year I did some updates From time to time some gas Gave her some new shoes, original 16 inch Fuchs wheels, with Toyo tyres.185/50/16 in the front, 195/50/16 in the back (tight fit!) From time to time a little maintenance, in good company! Some little tweaks on the interior, 2nd battery with a cyrix relais. Led lights (warm white, dimmer and remote control): This little fella lokes it very much! Some trips from time to time:
Also a hitch was on the list! Not so simple for a 2L injection with the special exhaust system! So we can take the Westfalia Essen with us! Bought an Amescador rear hatch tent. Here it is just a test fit, the canvas needed to be tensioned. These two like it also very much. More space to play in! Did some polishing on the body work. (Picture from the Ninove meeting) We're so ready for the summer! Just need a suitable awning or a Fiamma/Omnistore canopy. The original wheels are also freshly coated in white and widened in the back, I think I will test fit them. But I like the 16" Fuchs so much. They give the bus that nice look! We'll see. I love this bus Taiga is a great colour and OG fuchs are sweet too, I think 16"s suit a late bay very well, not too big. We are also a family of 4 so a berlin was our choice too - same reasons as you quote.
Love the look with the Fuchs, ride height sits spot on, superb! Your making me want to get our westy out of hibernation and sort the bodywork etc out
Did a small update this weekend, I installed a rear view camera in my bus. I bought some parts online (screen, rear view camera with wiring) and installed the camera in the rear license plate light. Works like a charm! See the video in the link! http://vidmg.photobucket.com/albums/v314/Humby/1977 Westfalia/rear view camera_zps38gtofgj.mp4 Aircooled greetz, Humby

In the meanwhile, we did some trips. We just the two of us, to Amsterdam Bikes on the bus and 2 nights on camping Zeeburg. Good as a"basecamp" but not so quiet and cosy... For the first time we used the Amescador rear Hatch tent. Perfect! Lot's of extra room and a very long bed!
I also bought an awning, trans Awn 200O in very good condition. Ordered some brackets at Eezi Awn Belgium and mounted it on the bus. Very nice! Again, less luggage in our bus and you put it up in 1 2 3! We used of the first time at Spa, Le Bug Show! What an event! I went with my little boy, 4 years old, and w had a blast! Difficult to find a camping spot when you arrive saturday noon, but we found a good one. (a bit illegal though)... For now, we will do some trips with the whole family. We don't know where, we'll see, we have 1 full month. I'll post a report here Aircooled greetz, Humby
