how do you make your vans touched up paint area shiney???

  1. did some small rust holes at the weekend, treated and filled, sanded and painted them. The paint match is really good but of course it is not reflective shiny like the colour I'm matching to. I've tried polishing to buff it up but its hard going. should I lacquer it or is it a case of wet and dry with 1500 grit before something else?

  2. What u using re polish mate ? could t cut it but that ,to use properly ,esp. on a blend job is a skilful job >in my opinion/experience>.how many "top/finisher coats applied?

  4. too dark for pics tonight - two coats of primer and three of top. tried t cutting but that seemed to be taking the new paint off. using simoniz diamond hard polish and wax

Perhaps your new paint needs leaving to harden for longer.

  7. Deffo agree with Zed"s opinion, what you can touch may be dry? but underneath may not be/prob isn"t yet.approach job as you would a new lover ,nice and gentle?(I read that somewhere)

  8. you could always make the rest of your paintwork duller...it was there first;)

Wait about 3 months then cut the whole bus back with compound then polish....big job to do properly IMHO

Did you use a heat lamp to help cure/dry the paint as the evaporation of the thinning agent helps. If it is still present, the paint is still 'moveable', if you see what i mean, which will cause a dulling effect when it is polished...
