how do the door vents fix on

Can anyone tell me how the vents attach to the door cards?

There are 6 lugs on the back of the plastic vent which push through corresponding holes in the door card, but they don't stay in and there isn't much lug sticking out the back of the door card to fit a star washer on.

 

I seem to recollect that the lugs go through the hardboard trim and then through the corresponding cut out in the door structure.

You're right, star washer. Maybe your plush door cards too thick? Usually a good 3-4mm stcking out

 

If you've got aftermarket door cards, you may have to chamfer a bit where each of the lugs go to make the door card thinner. The clips are all that hold the vent trim in.

I bought some screw caps off ebay colour to match cards and screwed corners and put the blue cups over, they do all colours

 

sorry thought it was the card not vent

 

Have a go with a bit of chamfering, if the cards are off. I had to do it (you reminded me ) as the carpet on my cards made them too thick.

If the cards are on...out with the evo-stik!
