How are the wheel studs held in the front disc?

I've got one stud that spins in its hole. I can manage to tighten the wheel on by pulling it at an angle until it binds in the hole and then it tightens up normally but would like to know if its an easy fix.
    Ta.

  2. bottom of the stud is splined, you can knock em out with a hammer, and replace em but if it's spinning the hub hole may have enlarged so a new stud won't be any good, but I'm sure there is a bodge/ fix,. poss a blob of weld but you will need the hub off,

  3. At some time that wheel nut has been loose and the hole has got a little bigger.
Ted has one on the back, before I last tightened the wheel up I removed the stud, cleaned it and put some Loctite on it before pulling it up tight, it no longer spins up when changing wheels. :)
I forget which Loctite it was, it's the Green "Monkey Snot" one that comes out of the bottle very thick.

Oh right, ta. I thought it might be something like that. I'll get straight onto that in the next three or four years then. :)

  5. As above, the studs are pressed in.

is the hub cast and can you weld cast ?

  7. I wouldn't weld them in anyway, you might want to remove them again.
I can probably "make" a slightly larger stud if you want?

How much of a hassle is it to remove the hub? It's been spinny ever since I've had the van. So far I've been able to deal with it by just loading it to the side as I do it up. Once it starts to bite onto the wheel it seems to tighten normally as the friction inside the hub is obviously enough to hold it still.

  9. You don't have to remove the hub.

  10. Bob buy a second hand hub and change it next time you need to do the wheel bearing

I think I must mean disc. All this terminology, I can't be doing with it. I'm going to be calling it "the spinny round thing"

So......I don't have my van here to look at at the moment.....how much grief is it to remove 'the spinny round thing'?
