^ I was told it was illegal so I was going to fit a normal one as well and just swap the wires. Might not bother then. Mind you, for £6.50 it might be worth it .....

  2. MOT regs require only that the horn is one which involves a continuous tone being emitted. That continuous tone could be 5 different horns in chorus, but it'd still be legal. Only tune horns are not allowed, so no dixie horns.

my understanding is it needs to make a continuous noise if you hold the switch down

  4. Only if they are alternating two or more tones. Two of different pitches working together are okay.

    must type faster

  6. So These are legal :)

  7. A root and a major third is usual for twin horns. Not a lot of people know that...

  8. I quite like the idea of a minor third if it's a sad day

  9. I've tried that (spent too many years of my life making electronic things warble) :) . It does sound rather mournful, so standard dual-tones (and police car nee-naws) go for a major third. A fifth just sounds bland...

  10. Yes and I spent years being driven mad by users who insisted on having different audio alerts for different sensors rather than looking at a legend display. The only one I never specified was a C & S Typhoon or maybe Hurricane sounder......sorely tempted to do so at times. :D
