  1. Hello, I'm back from a cruise from around the canaries,
Travel Insurance, who's had to claim on one, and who's come unstuck with one.
Seems when i was taken ill with pneumonia on board ship, and sent to a hospital, I was asked if i had Insurance, yes i replied,
I was taken to a private hospital on Lanzarote, The Hospiten, very good clean and well run,
    admitted and given treatment,
My insurance did not like this, add a note, it seems my anual policey was sold on to a third party in early december, with out my knowledge,
any way to cut a long story short, i filed a claim form for all expenses paid hospital, medication hotel for a week, the insurance got the flight home for us, once my oxygen level was ok,
i told them of the flight i i had a look on skyscanner, good site for cheap flights.
so before travelling if you have anual insuarance tell them where your going and find out if your covered for private hospitals,
ps. I had to pay 82 euro's excess wtf.

I got a claim form through today and am anticipating the fun!!

I had my snowboard stolen last week in France. The first few conversations have related to me proving the world turns off it's axis!!

They will not cover my 6 year old board. I have to find old receipts or bank statements. I paid for the bindings on PayPal so have asked the retailer for a replacement receipt... they've gone bust.... it's a catalogue of poo!

I currently hold no hope of getting any sort of payout that would replace my stuff, but I'm going to be aiming for the jugular of the hotel once the Insurance hurdle is out of the way! They were very helpful, but had tottally inadequate security so are completely at fault IMO.

It's all fun and games :D

i spent a lot of money in 2009 taking me Lou n the boys to Disneyland Paris for Christmas , first class flights , nice hotel the works , only problem was BA lost all our luggage on the flight there -buy new clothes etc and claim , keep receipts you're covered -the airline told me , so we spent the whole of Christmas in Disneyland buying whatever we needed and claimed when we got home - i got £400 the ( insurers hidden limit ) , i had spent £700 + have you ever tried buying warm clothing for 4 in disneyland or having to get a taxi on christmas day to paris to buy medicine because Wills medicine was in the lost luggage -- i will use the word barstewards for holiday insurance companys and expedia -absolute wnakers - one ruined dream holiday and not a word of apology from expedia who i booked it through either , we got our luggage back three days after we got home :(

  4. Its even 'simple' claims, my mum fell on holiday and we took her to a doctor recommended by the insurance company, fortunately it only needed her ankle strapping and some pain killers. I paid up front (as the insurers advised) and spent ages trying to get my money back, but as it was my mother who had had the treatment not me, I got nothing!
