Hi, I have just taken up the mats in my van and next to the gear stick I have a hole about the size of a 10p, looks like it should be there any ideas what it is for or how I should seal it? Thanks Gregg
As it looks a little less than circular I would suggest a PO bodged something. As for blocking it up a blind rubber grommet should do the trick.
But that would not be in keeping. I suggest you source an new old stock panel for that and spend a couple of grand having it fitted and painted. But what paint, oh my, rustoleum or smoothright. But is it pastel white or..... Blanking grommet and a bit of sealant!
Maybe it was an Auto at some point and had a wire going through the floor ? That is a total guess and I dont even know if an auto has a wire going through the floor.
Of course, you have a tester, that's ware the union men traded smokes back and forth while in and under the bus. The next contract it was voted out and was removed as they found to many started smoking just to use the hole. Or, a small tube through there with a funnel on top means not stopping between fill ups for anything, coffee in coffee out! I'd use a blind rubber grommet to cover that, cause they can't see so they'll stay where you put them. Or tin furnace tape!
