Hit by a tree!

So I'm driving to work in the "other" car - not a VW, when a guy in a skip truck on the other side of the road hits a tree and it comes down on me. I was doing 40mph and the windscreen imploded. Scared the crap out of me. All good except the guy tried to say he hadn't hit the tree - despite the fact it was 6 foot up the side of an embankment on his side of the road.

Anyone else have any close shaves...

and how exactly did he think he was going to pull off denying hitting the tree?? clearly not a genius!

 

Police sorted it all out. They were sure he'd hit the tree - it wasn't rotten and there was no wind. Thankfully it hit the roof just above the windscreen as well as the bonnet and windscreen. If it hadn't hit the roof I'm pretty certain it would have come in.

Ouch! Had a rotten tree fall over in front of me the other day, but it was windy and it was only a little one.
