    .
It is really the middle sill., you would be best removing inner and outer to do the middle properly. Failing that. How bad is it I can't see those pics on my phone.

I meant. It depends on how bad the inner sill is!

  3. ... And keep talking to Barry Craske if you are anywhere near Norwich. Obviously, it is his business so he is not likely to offer freebies but he is full of information and is really helpful and might have a bus you can look at to see how things should go or even how they should come apart?

    Good luck!

You said there are pictures where it looked ok. Where are they?
I really hope that it's not missing too many parts, it does look like you might be looking for one of everything and that could get expensive.
Best to leave the top of the middle sill/top track as that isn't available and also it'll give you a good datum to ensure the door shuts properly.
I wouldn't but you are young. Good luck.

  8. My ok might have been optimistic... i am picking up from barry craske a pair of complete arches with alot of seat tub on them plus the a and b post bottoms still there also so thats a small chunk of metal ticked off my list. i have followed and seen alot of your work zed and its great. i have all the time in the world for this and enjoy doing it so even if it takes time it will be alright on the night. :burp:

It's the missing bits, or did it come with boxes of stuff? It's surprising what you can rejuvinate when you see the new prices, but you have o have the parts in the first place. Stuff like seats, dash and instruments, safety belts, controls, lights, a windscreen, heating parts.

  10. Do it proper, drop it onto the sills and stick a v8 in it. nice interior and safety is MEGA overrated.

I just read you just bought an OG helsinki and were pleased it had 3 point belts in the back for the kiddies. Are you sure you got the bus you wanted?

  13. a friend has done exactly that he made his own titanium sills its on air so when he drops it it sparks really smart but that a splitty

  14. I rekon he has the belts are to protect the kids from wiplash when puts the hammer down...

  15. Hahah zed. yeah I'm positive, the reason I bought camper is due to my circumstances. I wanted something I can use every weekend for the purpose it was meant for. We have just had second baby a year ago, my boy is 6 so want to push him towards outdoors rather than indoors activities. I work away alot aswell sp it's about spending proper family time when we have it aswell. Don't get me wrong, give me 20 years and I will be on a barn find hoarders tv show ;)

  17. Ok so here goes nothing part 2!

Right so as you are aware i took delivery of the american roof its Perfect but and there is a but its american so this is where it gets tricky as everything is opposite! The sliding door is on the other side and so then are all the pillars so i have marked up what posts to leave and what to cut in order for it to fit. I have also have to unpick half the roof as to leave the sliding door track to reuse. so looking forward to getting that on! Yesterday i took delivery from the help of john deichman and barry craske again a pair of american cut complete arches with seat tubs which are solid so thanks to those guy
These are the doors i picked up well chuffed :chewie:

Ok this part came out of a box the p.o gave me i think its something to do with the sliding door does anyone have a photo of where this goes?
    what part.jpg
    engine.jpg
On the jig ready to rock and roll (no pun intended)
    roof1.jpg
For some reason the main photo i had of roof has vanished?...
    roof2.jpg

So my next step is to cut out old arches and weld new ones in...once i buy some more gas:oops:.

Get outriggers and jacking points ordered along with sill and get putting some metal back in! and i cannot wait for that as it saddens me looking at it as is.

Any way time for a beer cheers guys :burp::beer:.

Good luck with it, I think it'll be a long slog!

Leave the sliding door tracks in though as said, use this as your datum for where everything else needs to fit.
