Im a complete dumbass when it comes to technology so looking for some help. Reluctantly got a smart phone a while ago and finally decided to try and figure out how to get more out of it, so bought a mag supposedly to help me but im still struggling. If you are able to answer my questions please do it as if explaining it to a 5 year old! Tapatalk.....(coincidentally i see a thread about tapatalk updates) id heard of tapatalk and just assumed it was an iphone thing but apparently not. Now i gather it allows you to view websites on your phone. But i do that any way. So why do i need tapatalk? Wtf is ice cream sandwich? Gingerbread? I know my phone is android and i think thats the name of the operating system?? but the rest might as well be arabic
Which phone did you wind up with? I don't use tapatalk as I don't want to pay for the app - like you I just view the webpage on my phone and have never found it a problem. ICS or gingerbread are versions of the android system (like windows XP or windows 7 if that helps?) I'm happy to help a bit - I spend all day on a help desk so like to think I can explain to confused people (provided you can tell me what you're trying to do)
I've always found Safari on an iPhone more than good enough for viewing forums. What browser's on your Android phone? As above, ICS, Gingerbread are releases of Android. Google names them after cakes. I don't know why. I'd avoid the glossy mags - they don't normally have much useful in them (I'd say the same about VW mags). A bit of searching on the web normally gives better advice. If you having brain probs, flog your HTC on eBay and buy an iPhone.
Try downloading some free apps from the Play store on your phone - that'll help you work out what it can do - if you're into photos get instagram which is quite fun for editing photos... But I think if you have already sorted out the internet and GPS and music and aren't into facebook you've probably sorted most of it out The thing you can do with an HTC is configure the look and feel of your phone so you can arrange the screens beyond your main front screen to have the bits you use the most on it just by pressing and holding the icon down and dragging it to where you want it...
Just a little butt in here. It was mentioned that this site is not formatted for phones but when I select TLB bookmark on this basic blackberry I get a text only version of the forum with an option to go to the full site which is slower due to pictures/icon loading. I want an android.
With tapatalk you can post a picture on the forum very easily and it also helps you with hosting that image on the Internet. This makes the experience of TLB very mobile and as it happens when you are at meet-ups
