I was hoping somebody could help me please? I am currently away from home at work and am looking to buy a ladder to fit to my 1973 westfalia camper to give me access to the rear roof rack so need to know the measurement between the centre of the bumper and the roof gutter as i intend hinging it so it can be in the up posiiton until i need access to the roof rack when i would unhinge and have the bottom of the ladder rest against the bumper Thanks in advance
Why not get to the rack via the pop top, as it was originally designed? That's not very helpful, I can measure tonight, if that help would help....?
I know its possibly not what the OP wants to hear - but this is easily the best solution....no ballsing about carrying and storing ladders, or worse drilling your van to have one put on the outside. Its why Westy canvasses have such a big window that zip fully open in the non hinged end of of the roof.
