  2. If i could afford to have someone do the work i would. I can't even afford the panels it needs. Front arches, front panel and inner and deformation panel plus a couple of outriggers come to nearly £1k.:(

Just don't have the cash to do anything other that patch it up.

  3. Patch it up then ,looked fine at Eskdale
    As long as it moves.

    Flakey and rickyrooo1 like this.

if the panels aren't structural just bodge it, only do what's needed to make it mot safe is my advice, you never know what's round the corner and it will be worth more in the spring than now should you sell it.

  5. Yes I agree. I'm more than happy to donate what I may have left to you if it helps

  6. Yes, I'd say £5K to £6K.

  7. do you need the money?

if you dont why not lay it up for a few years and fix it up when you have the money and the love for it comes back

  8. Missus doesn't want to sell it (she bought it in the first place) but she's not the one who has to work on it.

Its still MOT'd and useable so could be patched up and used or it'll happily sit in the garden for a while.

oh yeah, when will you pull yours out and use it with purpose ;)

if you park it up for some years, which will become a lot of years before you know it, then it will require much much more work, don't do it, sell it or use it, buy another if you feel an overwhelming urge to

  10. Bought my bay with no interior for 3k last month worth five.

  11. Sell it quick then

  12. I sense you are having difficulty repairing it ,take it to someone who can and let her pick up the bill ,if she says no lose it in the garden for good...

  13. I'd like to see a comprehensive breakdown of asking price and actual sale price, on a seasonal basis over the last decade in the UK....someone geeky enough would be able to collate the info from websites, fleabay etc....would make for interesting reading...

As for the value of Z's bus, a taxed and tested Westy in reasonable nick, but requiring bodywork to make good....I've sen them go for anything between 4 and 6K....all depends on originality (esp. the interior)...which never ceases to amaze me, as folk who have the means and tend to pay top dollar for original also tend to renew the interior after a relatively short while, thereby reducing the 'originality value'...what's that all about?

  14. Its all repairable but just comes down to being able to afford to repair it in the manner it deserves.
I could keep patching it and getting it though the MOT but I've seen so many bodged up Marmiteters over the years and don't want to go down that route if i can avoid it.

  15. Normally the Mrs wanting to put her stamp on it.

  16. Apart from me fitting a proper fridge instead of the coolbox and adding few stickers the inside of ours is as it left the factory aprt from the PO's choice of seat covers.
Missus is happy with how interior looks apart from them as they look like they were stolen off a stagecoach bus. Factory mustard covers are still underneath but she doesn't like them either.

Depending on what interior you want - if it is completely bare - it'll cost you a good few grand to get an interior - stupid things cost daft money to get tidy ones such as door handles etc.

It's the main reason why people buy spares cars.

Unless of course you have years in which to get the thing working.
