  1. good idea get some decent lorry ratchets should hold it ok , if it should leak around the sky light silkaflex is your stuff they use it on boats and caravans id say its sagging because of the support springs but once you get it fitted you will know and can get stronger springs if necessary , dont listen to the tin top boys  it does look a good buy , if bellows are good and top isnt cracked should be ok

  4. I know it might need some work, but its worth paying to make it good and all under £250. Better than paying £2000. I have just brought some lorry ratchets and have some climbing rope if needed. Thanks for the tips and will let you know how it goes when I have picked it up  the size is abit big but I think it could work some how lol. I can sell it on easily I think If it don't fit.

Hi ya, that really looks like a 71 / 74 Devon with a roof cap on. Looks like the internals of the actual roof have sagged significantly, which is one of the problems these have. The roof has a flatish ally plate sealed to the outer frame surround with a gasket that just about always leaked and was a pain in the backside / pocket. The roof cap thing was the answer to these problems but only if you got the roof fairly straight first or the roof cap followed the sagging roof shape in quick time as seems to have happened here. The ally plate can be dispensed with but you`ll still need some form of levellish skeleton to support the roof cap. First job when you gets him home will be to get the cap off and see if it`ll go back to level without cracking. There are a couple of worthwhile rebuilds of these over on the prototype bay, the best looking one In my opinion is in the rebuild by `HOT ROD ' and his roof looks very good, as does the rest of the bus. That whole lot together will weigh a fair old bit by the way and it`ll take more than just two or three of you to get it on and off the roof of your bus, and look out for them springs, they are lethal if they shoot out.

    Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,, Good luck with it
