Heater control pod joints

    Finally getting around to replacing the rust bucket of heater control vent I took off last year…

    There appears to be remnants of some sort of rubbery sealant around the joint areas… can anyone tell me if I should be using anything similar please ? Hmm and if so what is it…

    I replaced mine last year - don't recall any sealant being there. I didn't add any either but given how poor the fitting is, maybe something should be used.

    Silicone sealant rated to somewhere between 20C and 130C dependent on optimism. Use the copper loaded stuff, that will survive 220C AFAIR..
