Heater Cable Guides/tubes

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by ironage, Jan 20, 2012.

  1. Stupidly when i was working under the van i replaced all the tubes apart from the Heater Tubes, come to run new cables and i couldn't get the old cables out! So, i've removed old tubes and got 2 new tubes from Scofields and put them in place but they are shorter than the originals, with the front in the correct place the rear end finishes in front of the torsion tube so they dont reach the brackets! My question is will this matter or will the new cable simply slide through them and i can connect them each end and they will operate the flaps?

    Thanks

  2. should be ok i reckon, it is just a guide at the end of the day, keep the cable that is showing greased up and it should be ok.

  3. thanks for the quick reply, i'll tack the new tubs in place tommorow and i should be back on course!
