WANTED Heat riser tube electric fan fuel pump block off

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by chancee, Nov 24, 2013.

  1. Hi first off thanks for those of you who offered parts to help me convert my t25 engine to a late bay style engine. I got offered an almost complete engine so it seemed a far more sensible way to go even though its broken the bank :(! So thanks to Lardy, monkey and everybody else for advice and the offers for parts.

I am now looking for the following :
Heat riser pipe that comes from the alternator to the tinware - big round hole at the bottom leading to a large oval hole where it comes through the tinware
Big electric fan that hangs above the engine
    A fuel pump block off
Tinware that goes from the heat exchangers to the engine underneath

    Thanks again guys
    Elizabeth

  2. Which heat exchanger / exhaust set up have you got? 72-72 (simple with just HE's and exhaust) or 75-78 (complex with lots of u-bends)

The tinware you need is different for the two set ups.

  3. Hi it's a late engine with square port heads last couple of years of production I think
    Cheers

  4. Are you using the T25 heat exchangers or have you got the correct '79 square port T2 ones?

    Assuming you have t2 ones...

The 79 tins you need are the same as the 72-74 ones.

The bottom tins are very hard to come by, however Paul Weeding makes/sells GRP ones and that might be your best bet - http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/type-4-grp-under-tins.19031/

You might struggle to find the heat riser pipe - I'm in the process of moving my van from the 75-78 to 72-74/79 set up and it took me months to track down that riser pipe.

    Hope that is some help!

    Nick...

  7. Yep, just ordered one from Vw heritage £15 I think it was. Should be here Monday for the big install!!

  8. Vw heritage brilliant thanks for that one piece down :)
    Cheers

  9. Again monkey Harris has the fan I think and the heater pipe but the undertins you can get from Paul Weeding, £50 fibreglass they are. :)

  10. That's not bad for 15 quid ......does it fit ?

  11. Lardy what is part number cannot see it on heritages website
Does anyone know if a t25 fan will fit in the bay fan housing my fan has two spokes missing :(

  12. Apologies, £16.90 probably plus vat guys but hey it's reqd. Part number @chancee is 021256332A

  13. You want to get rid of the T25 fan, I don't know if you can remove it from the end if the alternator but then I stuck on the old T2 one mate.

  14. Coming tomorrow so I'll let you know but it's their Vw Classic part. Not that that means much lol.

  15. Think VWH must have only recently started doing that pipe as I really struggled to find one!

  16. Believe we are talking about the fan on the crankshaft pulley. I think these are the same!

  17. The first post asked about the "Big electric fan that hangs above the engine" and so I assumed that was the fan in question - but I'm probably wrong!

  18. I was under the impression she meant the fan on the end if the alternator mate?? There is another pulley wheel/ fan it something on the T25 alternator from what I can remember??

  19. Yep that would be the heater blower and not the engine fan. I believe she is referring to the ngine fan.

  20. You are right. The heater blower fan is seperate from the engine fan on the T25 and is on the end of the alternator. (better design imho!)
