hi i am renewing my exhaust on my 73 bay will i have to change my heat chambers .
or renew all heating pipes and test them.

  2. is this a question? if yes, what is?

don't change your heat exchangers, repair them, aftermarket ones are just as good as J-tubes.

how do you repair them ?

  4. where are they broken?

you weld them. usually the pipe that goes in the muffler rots, you cut it out and weld in a new one it's outer diameter is 35mm same as intake manifold (hint)

Or if the outer skin gets holes in it, patch and weld.

    Depends what's broken. :)

But have to say unless it's a dry state import they are unlikely to be original ones.

i am new to all this and i thought they had parts inside that packed up ,
so if the out sides are not rusty i should be happy :)

inside the outer skin it is a lot of metal fins (imagine a heat sink on a computer chip) the exhaust itself warms that, the outer tin sheilds it and channels it to your orher parts, if the tin is ok the inside should be.
