i can't remember off the top of my head which side i need at the moment but anyone got one? one of mine had a couple of holes in so i filled them with gun gum - the heating has slowly got cooler and i've noticed the gun gum's come out so it's venting most of the heat. I suppose chemical metal may bodge it but if there's a cheap one about let me know.

  7. As of today I have a spare right hand side one. It's not 100% but the flap moves perfectly freely - could do with a clean up and a little hole patching.

£10+postage if you want it :)

    Nick.

  9. Hey Rickyroo1 / PeaSoup, can I have second dibs if you don't need it ? Just droping the engine on mine and can see my right hand one is in two pieces, and those bits are mostly rust!

can you stick a pic up? my holed one is offside (right) so let's see how bad yours is please.

  11. Im sure it works a treat buddy if you do have it off of him :)

  12. Rick - doent your Yank spec have a waste heat pipe to duct the air away when the pod is closed? (not that I believe it is necessary)

  13. I think those heat pipes were only on the '79 vans - my '76 US van definitely doesn't have them and just has normal control pods. Not sure what year Ricks is though...

no but maybe should have, as it goes the heat fires all over the starter compounding my hot start issue, don't forget my van came with j tubes and i've cobbled the heating together

  15. I just gave away a set of those heat duct pipes to @1050Ron that you could have had.

I'm pretty sure he won't be using them in the near future as he's currently got a 1600 and so he might be happy to pass them on to you.

Do your control pods have the mushroom caps on them? If you should have the ducting pipes then the control pod won't have the caps - the duct pipes attach where the caps are.

@PeaSoup i've removed mine and it's bad, a mate says he "might" be able to patch it but i'll know for sure in a week or so, if yours sells before then that's fine. If not i'll have it, mine's the offside one.
