Have you all seen the VW bus kit for the Suzuki Kie yet?

I haven't been able to find any actual information on these, (probably because I don't much care) only photos and this video. But it's fun too see them trying to emulate us. Now, if your family ever criticizes your bus, just say, "We are fortunate. There are Volkswagen-starved people in Japan who have to make do with sticking VW emblems on their Suzukis.".
It really is cute how proud this guy is. It makes me want to pull up next to him, pop the top and pull a cold Sapporo out of the fridge.
Nahhh. That would just be mean.

l feel somewhat violated when l see these. Yes it is nice to see people trying to copy the original but it does annoy me when they think they are "part of it" and lets face it they just get laughed and pitied at even by those who are not even into Volkswagens. However if they wave then l wave back because not to do so, well that's just rude.


And l have seen one with an earlybay front on it. At the moment we late bayers are spared but it won't be long.......it won't be long.

If modern cars are so good why do they keep copying dated styling?

Yuk! to put all your time and effort in to doing that......to a Suzuki. : Mind you, if costs mean that there is no way they can ever afford to own/keep an old vehicle you have to feel a bit sorry for them.


and by the way......did I see beetle horn grills on the front??......and if so WHY?? ???

 

as malc says the mot law over there is the reason they imitate, some of the best landrover discoveries got imported to us via japan - just like we do with u.s busses, they are badged up as honda crossroads though, but it is a landy.
