What would we do without it? I’d be less healthy than I am now.
Today I think all people should think of times they’ve relied on the NHS and imagine what their lives would have been like without it.
Today a lady was on the radio saying how her grandad? In Wales pre nhs had to be treated without anaesthetic as they couldn’t afford it.

Happy birthday NHS and those that work within it xx

  2. It's bloody fabulous despite vast endeavours to run it into the ground:mad:
this is testament to the amazing folk who work in the NHS and believe in it, who keep it going; and without them i'd probably be dead or destitute (if it were private), that's why i'll always fight to keep it as Bevan intended.
This week my friend posted on FB how, as a full time midwife, she has had to go without meals so her two children can eat and has to use foodbanks :(
We should be looking after those who look after us in our times of need.

  3. Thanks to the NHS I am still here - brilliant surgeons and nurses etc at Broadgreen Hospital in Liverpool who did my heart by-pass in 2016 .God help us all if it is ever privatised as it is in USA

    Wonderful Wonderful NHS.
Free health care available to all, no matter what your background, social standing, or financial situation.
An incredible institution that we need to look after, and also those who work within it.
Happy Birthday NHS; Long may you continue.

My Grandad returned from the war with a steel plate in his skull that covered a wound. He was demobbed and sent home after fighting 6 years for his country and being injured. He had no job as such, his wife was dying from cancer and they could not afford the Dr or medicine. My dad's mum died when he was 11, she left a sick husband and 3 children. A few days after she died and was buried in a pauper's grave some army and council officials came to give my grandad his medals and stuff he had been awarded. He opened the door and listened to their praise and was handed his medals. He walked past them and threw them in the bin, he said they won't feed my kids or bring my wife back will they?

There were a lot of disgruntled demobbed chaps who had been trained to fight, wanting change. Not saying it was definitely forced on the government, but they did make the right decision at the right time.

Yay, for the NHS and all that work, nay ( have that vocation) there.
