If someone buys a car on H P and then transfers said vehicle to a private number plate , is it still possible to get an H P check on this vehicle not knowing the original registration ? I don't know the reg numbers and don't want to do a 900 + mile round trip just to do a drive - by of a certain house if I can't do the check.
Thanks for the offer ,I just need to know whether a private reg plate will yield the info ,plus I don't know what the registrations are yet.
The HP checks I've had reference changes if plate, so suspect it makes no odds you get the history anyway..
If you hpi the private reg it will show any previous regs and chassis number. I must hpi 30-40 cars a day and you would be surprised at the errors of finance records being left on or put against the wrong car totally or not even showing as the loan is not recorded correctly. Just check as much as you can.
Private plate would make no difference or it would be a really easy way of shifting dodgy motors. All previous plates should show up.
