I have been with Adrian Flux for the past few years - not generally that happy with their service when I first went with them - they tried to mug me for a huge premium hike for alloy wheels and then got very aggressive when I tried to cancel the policy. I had kind of forgotten this at last renewal and signed up after haggling on the phone with them, only to then be stung for the extra £15 they charge for agreed value. Anyhows, in the best spirit of 'what goes around comes around', my Flux renewal came through yesterday at £190 + £15 agreed value. I thought I would give Cherished a chance and they quoted me £107, including agreed value (no breakdown or legal) for comparable cover. So they got my business. Thought this was very good value for drive-parked 1600 with 3000 mile mileage. So sorry Adrian Flux - you are 'fluxed' and I have no intention of calling you to haggle for a better deal.
If it was just about price I'd find Cherished really hard to beat. As it isn't I'll be leaving come renewal time.
Yeah, I saw you post about repatriation. I figure most insurance companies are slippery and I had a bad experience with Flux - Cherished were very helpful at that time even though I could not escape Flux in the end without losing a lot of my premium. I have AA cover and am hoping to take my bus across to Ireland this summer, so I will have them to blame if I do hit problems and can;t get home. I will be interested to see if you find a better option - I am a firm believer in shopping around rather than blind loyalty - have saved a fortune in recent years by not just accepting various renewals etc.
I'll certainly be shopping around, I do most years anyway. I would have stayed at Cherished but I wouldn't trust them any further than I could throw them to be honest. I know they're all probably the same but they're the only ones to have lied to me (so far)
