    Hi there,

    '75 2litre type 4 with 1600 gearbox US import

Once hot (strangely doesn't happen when the engine is cold) and the clutch pedal is fully depressed, there are graunching/grinding noises from the clutch.
Gut instinct says dodgy thrust release bearing but if I just partially depress the pedal, gears can still be engaged (3rd can be a bit awkward but it is the worst in normal use) without the 'orrid noises.
Do you think it's the bearing or might it be adjustment?
    Ideas gratefully received.

  2. There are more technically competent guys on here but it sounds to me like it might need a good look by dropping the engine. Have you tried adjusting the cable to see if it has any effect?
