Hi all just chucking this out in hope really i need a good bottom filler hose for a 72 on bay if anyone has one knocking about - obviously i am willing to pay i did have one but gave it and a good tank to a another latebayer who was having difficulty . Thanks Malc
It wasn't daft at the time i was helping someone get to a show who had a shot tank , best of it was they did not need the filler hose and cannot find it now - daft sending the filler hose though - in hindsight :-[
true, i thought twice about the price when i changed mine but most are bought to fit so you may just need to bite the bullet.
i am hoping someone has got one knocking about like i had , it was new but no use for it at the time - 1.5 year only parts - good one !
Just replaced mine PT, Heritage rip off part (always ask for the longest they have as they tend to be a bit short) same part as my 74' though petrol cap end parts are different. so no help as my old one is probably as good your current one, but dispelling the 1 year only part myth
To clarify, this part: http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Fuel-filler-hose-tank-end-T2-72-79-211201125D_act_shop.product_pID_153800_lang_EN_country_GB.htm?crumbStartPage=1&crumbStartRow=1 is what i just fitted to my 73 reg 72 built bus, (fuel filler flap) and is the same part i fitted to my 74 (fuel filler cap, no flap) It actually fitted the 73 better, but i did make sure the fella who served me dug out the longest one in the box and it was only about 3mm shorter than the one that came off.
