Well finally, about 30 years after I should have gone before it got poppy and popular I've finally got tickets for Glastonbury Best start saving forthwith!!
I think the Wisemans got tickets too, at least I think that's what @JenW said unless she has another reason to be drinking sangria
I was trying at home on laptop and mob. The page kept crashing so I took mob off wifi and could load the page but was in a queue. Fortunately my sister was trying for us all too with a mountain of devices - but, it was my niece who got them on her mob.
Bad luck. As you say, 30-40 years too late... Glasto was good in it's day because there simply weren't many (if any) other biggish UK festivals apart from Reading which was dire and it was easy peasy to get in without paying. Sneaking in was something Mr Eavis deliberately turned a blind eye to in the early days before it was commercialised to the extent it became. Nowadays with such a wealth of choice, Glastonbury is right at the bottom of the list for me. Even if I could get in and camp for free I'd think twice about going. Just too big.
I'm going as well. We got all 18 tickets in 20 minutes. Just as well as they sold out in half an hour this time. Looking forward to it as I have for the last 25 years.
think 94 was my last one! Id like to go again at some point tbh but not currently high on the priority list!
Have never been (should have gone years ago but didn't) now go to the smaller ones 'Latitude' and hope to go to the one 'Technohippy' is doing called 'cosmicpuffin' a charity one for childrens hospitals.
Just sayin. I went to a wodge of early Glasto's and the only thing that marked them out, other than no real headlining bands was that they happened at all. I had a great time, generally got a bit loose and wasted enough not to require a tent. There were hardly any food stalls - maybe 2 or 3 total. Bogs were dire etc etc. But you could camp 100m from the stage the 1st time I went if you wanted. It was smallish, compared to now it was tiny. There were no other alternative large (for the UK) festivals apart from Reading and that was awful so it was Glastonbury or nothing apart from the odd tiny festivals that were always good in their own ways. Mainly for being small and relaxed. There's a parallel with VW shows I feel. Small is good, big is bad. IMO
Each to their own and I'm genuinely glad that some real people have got the tickets they wanted. Personally I'd rather sit in a field of half a dozen campers and listen to a bloke and a guitar or something similar.
I'm not too sure what I will think of it but have put it off for so many years that thought I'd best do it now. I may end up having a v expensive family camping holiday!
You obviously were not listening that time when I was "trying" to play my guitar in Keith H's field then!
