I'm sure I saw a post on here a while back about some one who could cut keys from the number stamped on the key any one got a link? I tried my ignition key at the weekend and it took me 15mins of fiddling before it turned .....so I'm thinking the key is a bit worn - or the lock was sticking ......and that is a fiddle trying to change! so thought I'd try the easy option first!
This guy reckons he can do it from the number, a photo or even a tracing! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-V...Parts_SM&fits=Car Make:VW&hash=item1e7a634895
It's from the number on the lock or barrel not the key, karmann konnection do it and you get a nice vw logo'd key too
i got mine off ebay very quick atswampys-old-skool-lock-shop well pleased and it was numberon the key as it was broken
cheers mate ....I'll take a look .....regarding getting some where local - I didnt think it was worth getting new key cut from my old...as if my old 1 is worn I guess the new one wont be much good either
