Germany road trip

  1. This is one for all you MPG stats people. I have just got back from 1361 mile trip to Saalburg in East Germany and back. We did it three up in the camper towing my hovercraft. It was 22 hours of travelling each way, plus overnight and we averaged 27mpg! I was amazed at that, I thought it would be much less. 1600 twin port, bog standard and we were cruising between 50 an 55mph all the way with the occasional 60mph overtake!

  4. doubtless the towing of said hovercraft helped with the aerodynamics, as if you had 2 identical vehicles (buses) and one had a bulky trailer/van trailer, it should get better milage than the one without. Still very good , all that open road without constant stop start.
