OK here's some terms from some servicing records for my bus. Some may be abbreviations. I can't get Google translate or Babylon to recognise them: verggehaeu fedscheibe spurkopf zuendleitg There's plenty more terms but verggehaeu is most interesting as it cost DM456 back in 1993. The then owner was spending around DM1300 each year on servicing, which was something like £800 I think.
Oooh. Better than a crossword I think it's a lot of German mechanics scribble, as some words are contracted. Easy ones first: "Zuendleitung" is a spark plug lead, "Spurkopf" is a track rod end (a "Spur" is a track), a "Federscheibe" is a spring washer. "Verggehaeu" may be "Vergaser Gehaeuse" - a carburettor housing...airbox, mebbe? Definiately something to do with your Vergaser (carburettor). More, please...
Nothing wrong with a bit of Flaschenreinigung Bhubesi Bhubesi/Tony will be along shortly I'm sure, to add some technical terms in Bavarian. Jo mei!
Aha. When I got my bus I thought maybe the left hand carb was a bit newer than the other one. Hell of a price though(assuming my DM/£ is right) OK some more for Snotty. Some of these are more obvious and there are clues in how many were charged for: dichtung (2) dichtring (2) co-einschr schraube einsprrohr zuendekerze (4) vert kopf speigel bremsbelag mutter (4) splint (2) warndreiec Jetzt du zir
Some are incomplete or mis-spelt as per the first list. Best guess: dichtung (2) - seal dichtring (2) - ring seal co-einschr - looks like some kind of screw schraube - screw einsprrohr - track rod zuendekerze (4) - spark plug vert kopf - no idea! speigel - mirror bremsbelag - brake lining mutter (4) - nut splint (2) - no idea warndreiec - warning triangle Jetzt du zir - I assume you mean jetzt zu dir.
They are rather compressed - I assume they came off the VW dealer's line printer, so they've squished the names. Also no umlauts, which is a giveaway. Owen's right...some others: "CO-Einschraube" is likely the idle mixture screw on the carb, "Verteiler Kopf" is a dizzy cap. i don't think "einsprohr" is a track rod - some kind of tube or pipe, mebbe? "Einspritzen" - accel pump nozzle on the carb? I'm disappointed you haven't got a Kraftstoffvorratsanzeige, a Wischwaschanlage or even an Obenliegendenockenwelle...
