I have finally decided to sort the gear change once and for all.

The front bush has had it even through, i changed it 2 years ago

I did notice that the linkage looks too long when in neutral l the cup is at the front of the hole in the floor is there any way of adjusting this ?

The gear shift linkage doesn't have any adjustment in it. It is 2 bars with a locator screw.

  3. as said above there is no lenght adjustment as the rear couping and front shift rod are fixed to the centre shift rod by the pointed screws in the drilled peens

  5. I know this is an oldish thread but......replacement front shift rods have been known to be up to 30mm too long! Mine came from JK and like an idiot didn't measure it against the old one before fitting. Its easy enough to cut and redrill ...just a pain.

  6. Beware also front bushes from the likes of JK that are too small for the hole in the frame, and just flop around.
