Some of you know i just changed my gas in the van from calor 3.9kg to calor 5kg patio, partly for more gas but mainly for the quick release valve that's on the patio one, does anyone know anything about those quick release valves? are they type specific to calor or do other companies use the same one? reason for asking is i've just had a 10kg BP patio gas bottle back at work and it's 75% full and the valve looks the same, if it fits i can somehow use it for free heat this winter in the bus.

    this is the bottle/outlet

Are you really sure these are suitable for the purpose?
Steel cylinders will withstand crashes, crushing and penetration much better than fibreglass ones.
I notice Calor dont promote these for use in caravans. They promote Calor Light steel cylinders as an alternative.

  4. The BP ones were designed specifically to reduce weight in Caravans, as such I'd suggest they tested them?
@rickyrooo1 There's a clue on the red piece of paper around the brass bit! If yours is 27mm I'd say it'd fit!
