  1. British Petroleum.

  2. Towards the beginning of the year my Tory MP told me it was OK we only relied on Russia for 4% of our gas supplies. I have written back asking him why the increase?

chancellor Zahawi has a nerve, telling everybody today “ to cut back on energy usage”…..the rat had to pay back money claimed for heating his stables. It was an oversight though

  8. They have to give you those rates unless you have accepted a fixed rate deal (higher or lower) , have a pre-payment meter (higher) or live in NornIron as they have a different regulator so they do.

I know, it was more of a clarification for Jean-Francois He asked two questions, who owns it, and UK or private.
BP don’t even call themselves British Petroleum any more.

BP isn’t British Petroleum anymore. It changed to Beyond Petroleum years ago.

  18. So it looks like Mrs Thatcher, er sorry, Liz Truss is going to bring in a price freeze for 18months and it’s rumoured to be at about £2.5k a year. That still seems an awful lot of money to me when the price cap is currently £1900 ish. If we’ve got to borrow a ton of money to get us through this, like the furlough scheme, would it have made much difference long term to just freeze it at todays prices?

The sooner this country becomes independent in energy production the better. If that means loads more nuclear to back up the renewables then so be it I say. How can a g7 country be held to ransom by lunatics and big multinational businesses.

If any more proof was needed that these suppliers are on the take, as I mentioned recently OVO were pestering me to sign up to £545 a month for two years. Now yesterday that’s dropped to £352. They are desperate to get people to sign up to any long term price they can to lock people in before the government brings in help and claw in as much money as they can. Disgusting businesses the lot of them.
