Fuse number 9

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by in over my head, Aug 5, 2019.

  1. hi all. Fuse number 9 is listed in manual as vacant, but without it camper cuts out. It has blown twice in last couple of days seemingly just after lights turn on. Any ideas why this is?

  2. Is the van dead when the fuse goes no ignition nothing ?

  3. Have a look at what's connected to the top of fuse 9.

  4. Probably been wired up wrong.

  5. Yeah totally dead when it goes. It hasn’t had any rewiring recently. Changed bulb fairly recently could that cause it?

  6. Put a picture up of the wiring in the fuse box, otherwise we are just guessing as something has been added to the spare fuse, ignition switch feed or an immobiliser.

Sounds as if someone has wired the ignition feed on it

Have a look and see what colour wires are on the back

  8. When I got my bus the PO had got the main feed cable from the back running to the top of fuse 9 everything worked fine until I turned the lights on the the fuse overheated and melted and the van just died. Moved the cable to the bottom of the fuse no problems since. Probably you have the same thing
