G & oil are on top terminal fuse 9 on mine as its wired at the moment. Hence why engine cuts out when fuse goes. Fuse 11 also has the G & Oil light on it. When I pull fuse 11 the engine doesn't cut out. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get chance to test everything when the big wire is on an unfused terminal on fuse 9.
Think I'm confused here then.. why two g & oil.?. don't need them to make engine run anyway.. just 12v on the coil once its going and it gets that from the black wire on fuse 10 (or bottom of 12 maybe) which gets it power through ignition switch from fuse 9 which is why it goes when you take that out. Probably gave the immobiliser fed off 9 to keep it working till you activate it.. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
The only thing you need to run the Bus is 12v to the coil, sure you can't start it, but once it's running.... Edit: assuming a mechanical fuel pump etc.
If it helps it'll look pretty much like this at the front but the wiper switch E will be on the stalk not a switch but wiring lines and coulors pretty much all the same Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
Vintagebus may have gone, but webarchive has the remnants. Wiring diagrams are here but they might be the same ones as thesamba: https://web.archive.org/web/20060110115530if_/http://66.34.72.138:80/index.html
I don't know whether this will help you but I decided to reduce the electrical load on the ignition switch and immobiliser by using the feeds to switch a fused hot start relay and a fused coil and fuel pump relay. I had a 1.5v drop to the starter solenoid with the old set up which wasn't helping things.
I like that for seeing what goes to what and the other type for what fuse looks after what. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
There is another one for 1973, but the document is split into 4 bits! No idea (yet) what the difference between the two is or which one is most relevant to mine!
I had the same problem fuse 9 melting and killing all ignition check for what I found https://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/faulty-head-lights.69212/ Hope it helps
Think it just makes printing bigger easier .. they 're all not that different.. some US type stuff here and there and a few bits I don't have. Usually more stuff you don't have than not showing what you've got just need to pick the bits to ignore. It's usually the home made add ons that mess it up in my head and the bus.. got to figure out a radio/ amp/ eberspacher set up to add this weekend.. then maybe intermittent wipers to be posh like Snotty! Radio is on my list for next month. Not sure what speaker units to go for? Thinking 2 in the cab and 2 in the headbanger locker (don't want the added bulk of a sub).
Sorry Paul for the distraction.. BMW scrappy speaker set.. 2 x 4" 2x 5" and a couple of flat underseat Subs £20!.. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
