Fuel tank sender

I put a new one in last year, from GSF.

It's the cylinder shaped type, bus is a '73.

Gauge has now stopped working again, reads empty all the time. My guess is that the contacts get dirty from lack of use - a rising and falling fuel level would help keep them clean but I haven't used the van much recently. I could be completely wrong of course.

Anyway, assuming the sender is to blame (and that the GSF ones are rubbish) can anyone recommend a better replacement?

er... don't know. i doubt it.

 

Sourcing an original one second hand might be a better option.

 

Just seen c&c do a German quality vdo one. Sounds a better bet.
