Hi, I need a new fuel tank sender for my 74 crewcab. Looking on ebay there is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fuel-Tank...arParts_SM&hash=item4608b93746#ht_1619wt_1348 which says it fits 68 to 79 , or this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vw-T2-Fue..._CarParts_SM&hash=item3cdd5533e6#ht_63wt_1348 but it says 76 to 79. They both look the same, so how can one fit all years and the other only 76 to 79?
The ones pictured are late model senders with a twist on bayonet type fitting. Earlier models had a long tube and had screws round the rim to attach to the tank. Unless crew cab tanks are a lot easier to get at, second hand isn't worth it.
