Fuel system

  1. Hi all, couple of simple questions..
Just starting to fit my new 34 ICT carbs and a couple of questions pls (there may be more on the way, so be warned!)..
I have the fuel pipe going from tank to filter then straight through the firewall, so very limited space under the bus.
Is it OK to fit the fuel cut off solenoid after the pump onside the engine bay, then the pressure regulator, then splitting off into 2 to each carb?
How much space is there behind the firewall as I was going to drill this & fit rivnuts so I can bolt the fuel cut off valve and pressure regulator to the firewall.
    Thx. 20220423_114529.jpg

  2. By firewall I mean the fuel tank cover thing, like the grey one in this picture.. Screenshot_20220423-141500_Google.jpg

There is a fair gap there, wrap your drill bit in tape about 3mm from the tip, to stop it going through too far..

Best place for shut off solenoid is outside engine bay so if there is a fire the fuel line is totally shut off outside the engine bay. Rubber hose burns up ...

Buy more hose, theres a lot of room up by the tank spigot for the filter then shutoff valve.

Best idea.. filter for junk stops jamming shutoff valve. Then shutoff valve. Then through firewall to pump, then Malpassi pressure regulator then carbs...

  4. Thx.
Pump is already under the bus, so I'll try & squeeze the shut off between the filter (which is just under the tank) & the pump.
Any suggestions what to fix the shut off valve to, as there's not much to fix it to under there & it's gonna be quite close to the driveshaft!
