Replaced fuel lines a couple of times since fitting Icts and thinking of different route as the bends are too tight around the fan housing. Also where is best place for regulator as fitting malpassi. Dont want to remove engine but need to sort before trip in March. Lastly will fit codan but how can you tell if genuine as cant find many stockist. Sent from my SM-A405FN using Tapatalk
I trying to fit one today too... but it's a dokka so got even less space to aim for.. On the back firwwall above the engine tin seems the popular place.. stole this pic off interweb. Volksbolts do Codan .. http://www.volksbolts.com/FuelHose/index.htm Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
Why not use some metal tubing round the tighter bends ? Or this Goodridge 200-04 as sold by the likes of VWH which works to higher temperatures, will work with evil fuels, not just E10, less likely to fail , and has a 50mm minimum bend radius. I have managed to get this to work using standard hose clamps and sliding the braid back to get the inner over barbs. After a fire and seeing rubber hoses crisp up and stainless braided ones survive. In fact I forgot my braided oil hose had been licked by flames and I still use it. Rubber hoses no matter their provenance R9 or other all seem to crack up with the heat round corners in the hotter corners of a VW engine bay ..and the fact fuel soaks through them and softens them. But this Goodridge hose is pricey. I think its actually the same hose as used on the braided brake hose kits - it will take 1000PSI at 150 deg C.
If you go with the stainless braided watch out for any live wiring connectors.. you've not got chokes any more with ict's but just in case you have any others.. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
