Hello team . And thank you for accepting my request . Just a quick update , I've been tracing fault on my 76 bay this weekend ,moon earning non working fuel gauge . So here is my time so far"......... Ok team . Here's an update following previous post over fuel gauge issues. 1. Removed dash cluster and removed the sender cable from fuel tank which is brown black and shorted to ground, no results . 2. Put ohms meter across same cable and down to ground , readings show 12ohm which is as stated on the speedyjim web page using the graph is spot on . 3. Put same meter on again using Dc voltage And measured the pulse effect from the sender using Jamie rivers guide , which pulses from approx 1-5 volts. 4. Trip to maplins to buy two fuses , 11 & 22 ohm range to test the rear of the fuel gauge and nothing moves .... Hmmmmmm. So this is my conclusion. The vibrator device looks ok The sender from tank looks ok Ground cables checked and moved around to body not dashboard cluster. Only section I'm failing to get any results on is the gauge built into the cluster on left side above indicator lamps etc. So unless anyone else can thro some light on this I guess I'm after a new reproduction gauge . Yes I know ! good luck Russ
Hi David . Ok thank you . That'll be next weekends garage session, I've seen pictures posted of the gauges and I guess it'll be obvious upon inspection.
