  1. Anyone's stopped going up and down?

Do you just scrap the pump and fit electric?

Mine leaked and at the time repro ones were rubbish, hence I fitted an electric rotary one.
I understand that the later repro ones are much better.

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

If it stopped going up and down it's probably stuck fully up?

The plastic pump spacer / push rod guide can absorb oil and swell up so it jams.

Be careful removing it because it also increases its grip on the engine case, and its something like bakelite so you can too easily end up with a bit left behind, and uncertainty over where that bit of plastic may end up over time

There is some opinion that aftermarket pushrods wear shorter quite rapidly.
Measure the length of the pushrod ..

  7. They do. Take the push rod out and measure it.

  8. I've changed the pump a month a go, maybe it's that, the rod is original

Had a pump last almost fifty years then catastrophe and had to get a new one with new rod and it lasted less than a hundred miles. Got a replacement pump and rod from the same place (GSF) and it’s been fine for several years. I’ve heard several horror stories recently of rods having the squeeze put on em , just gotta blame brexit I suppose.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,, Could I still blame Boris? :)

With all new parts, and a nice SSP E90 proof fuel pump , stay mechanical....
