Front step fitment issues

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by markey, Nov 18, 2018.

  1. A few years back I fitted a pair of klokkerholm front arches and steps

I got the fitment regarding the door shut looking pretty good but I’m having issues where the step and the a pillar join and also with the infill to the deformation panel

    This is what I have

When I have been looking at other bays the join between the step and the infill to the deformation panel, seems to line up with the door shut line.
Are these steps too long and require shortening or does the small infill overlap the step?

Just trying to get my head around it before I replace that crusty inner panel

The step has been tucked behind the panel when it should run past it and then the infill covers it up

  6. Still struggling a bit to fully understand this one

The panel I tucked the step behind, (that follows the door shut line) is that cut above the step to keep the line right?
Then the infill overlaps the step and joins to maintain the line.

Red - peel the end of the step outward

Yellow - cut the panel here to get back to the shut line (does the step need to butt up to this or can I weld it where it looks right)

    Purple. Infill panel.

  7. Ordered two infill panels form Schofield’s
At least I have a shut line to work with now
