WANTED Front Shift Rod

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by Drew_H, Jun 22, 2014.

  1. Tried raising my adjustable beam today, but the top adjuster then fouls the shift rod.
So after a second hand one I can try putting a bend in for clearance.

  2. I might have one will look tomorrow. If you like as I am not sure if it's 13 or the no 11 that it fits into

  5. Hi Drew,
I have had the same issue as the replacement beam I bought is not fully adjustable as described when I bought it last year.

I am in the process of making my own modified rod so I can run at stock hieght for the time being. I have a 76 bus & bought my spare rod (part 13) from Volkheaven for £30 + postage which was in good condition.

I will post up more info and photos when I've completed it hopefully in a weeks time (if it works!)

  6. Excellent, that's exactly the problem I have.
I was dead chuffed after a couple of hours when I finally got the adjusters into place only to get one of those Doh! moments when I tried to put the linkage back.
Are you bending the existing rod, or cutting and welding ?

  7. I have the other one no good for what you need so sorry I can't help

  8. I looked at it and initially thought I could have bended it at maybe got 1 or 2 notches but as I wanted the full adjustment, so I am cutting and welding a deeper bend in.
I made one in copper tube to fit first and now just waiting on the steel bend back from engineering friend.:)
