Welder called today. Got to take bus in on Wednesday night but as he’s been insisting on glueing an arch repair panel on (which I haven’t got yet) I m thinking of just asking him to do the roof. He’s talking about glueing that too, I think it’s a time pressure thing. He also works with modern cars so does lots of riveting and glueing. So gutted but hopefully it’ll seal until I can get it all done properly? I’m guessing my rotting arch won’t get through an mot?
I had a small hole on the inside of my arch.....similar in size to the original VW hole with a rubber grommet. Was told it was technically a fail, but got a pass......and got it fixed ! Think it's the corrosion within 8in of suspension rule.
Bugger. I’ll have a good look round on Wednesday once it’s in the workshop. At the moment I think I’m just going for remedial repairs until I can find someone to do it all properly. It wasn’t my original plan but ...
