Front inner arch bulge

Good evening all..
May i ask what the purpose of the inner aft arch bulge is for....

I will be replacing most of that area and just wondered why the bulge. Quite an expensive item yo replace also...

If you mean the ones down by the floor, I reckon it was to provide a bit of footroom for middle-row minibus passengers.

If you haven’t got a middle row of seats they serve no purpose (apart from rotting).
