Front door quarter lights

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Pickles, Feb 19, 2013.

  1. I think my quarter lights are responsible for letting the rain in, they are the ones that move (or should do if they werent seized (or at least very stiff)) how easy is it to change these for fixed ones?

if it makes any difference, its a 1972 crossover built late 71

    Cheers

I doubt it. More likely, and very common where water is coming into the inside of the step and/or next to the seat - you don't have a plastic membrane on the door under the card.

I fitted a pair yesterday - I should have taken pics, but it should be card shaped minus 5mm, stuck to the door, tucked in at the bottom and the rubber bungs for the clips fitted after.

Between the membrane and the clips, all the water that by design comes in past the opening window and through the door stays in the door and out of the correct drain hole (which is outside the main door seal) at the bottom.
