Front disk hard brake line to flexi replacement

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by D5andy, Sep 18, 2013.

  1. A daft question but ill ask it all the same ;)

I'd like to replace the hard line that goes to the front disk flexi, originally I wanted to replace just the flexi but the nut was very stubborn so I rounded it off

If I buy a complete set from vwh or wherever are they the correct double flared type and will I be able to replace that one ^^ that I rounded off though the chassis with the nut attached etc...

See I said it was a noddy question...

I guess I'd also need a pipe bender ... Should I just go the whole hog and buy a pipe flare tool..?

  2. yea make your own

I borrowed a flaring tool, bought the unions and pipe from ebay and saved a fortune :D

  3. if you only need one front hard line, to save you buying a complete set go to t2customs.co.uk, he sells them in pairs for a fiver. pre flared with connections. you dont need a bender, as long as youre gentle you can bend it by hand. get a flexy from gsf, tenner. this is what ive just done.

  4. If you're talking copper or cunifer pipe, you can shape it easily by hand. Very soothing...
