  3. The detachable seat doesn't have runners. It has two brackets on the wheelarch, one bolted, one welded, that the seat base hooks into. The seat back hooks into another bracket on the rear bulkhead.

I wouldn't describe them as "awesome". "Uncomfortable", possibly ;)

  4. Yeah I looked at that approach when we first got the bus.

only an option if you have no bulkhead either side, or are willing to lose some structural rigidity cutting them out. You also can't have any rear facing seat or side cupboard behind the bulkhead as this is where your feet will go when you're flipped. Walk through facility would be a shame to lose too.. designing a shape for the base and backrest that is both supportive enought for driving and also comfortable when flipped/ or sleep on if that's the plan (kids only i suspect, its not that wide) might be a challenge. seat belt mounts - i guess you'd need something flexible that fits through the gap, might be a pain to slot those in/ out when you're flipping over?

all the ones i saw had some issues which i guess is why westfalia only used that approach for a short period before switching to the walkthrough/ fixed drivers seat/ passenger swivel arrangement.

i think it would be awesome if you can make it work.

  5. Thanks guys ....yer I wonder how practicale in reality it would crap be losing the walk through...and then if when driving your not happy with the postion you carnt push the seat forward or backwards to suit....maybe I just go for the swivel....or...maybe I just go for it ha any more info appreciated like is there any way to alter them to suit different size drivers or is it just tough you got a cool flip seat get used to driving either to far forwards or backwards from the steering wheel

  6. From memory, the mounting brackets have 3(?) "tooth" positions, so you can change the position of the sear base to an extent.

  7. Why would you have a flip seat on the driver's side?
